#1 Teen Fiction | #1 Young Adult | #1 Romance "We all need someone to drive us mad." - The Wombats. He stared arrogantly down at me, a smirk plastered across his face. I sneered up at him with distaste, wanting to wrap my fingers around his neck and strangle that smirk off of him. He brushed my golden hair from my face, his long, slender fingers sparking electricity in my skin, making my knees wobble together. "Will you ever, forgive me?" he whispered huskily, his eyes intently staring into mine. His face was only mere inches from me. I just needed to reach out a little further to kiss him... "Yeah. Over my dead body." I snapped, before throwing my arms out forcefully, shoving my hands into his chest, pushing him from me. -*-*-*- He, is Carter Williams. I, am Lacey Adams. We were once, inseparable. The 'Golden Couple'. The unbreakable best friends, that everybody envied. Nothing could get between us. A part from being tighter than white on rice, we updated our status from friends to being in a relationship, frequently. We were neighbours, which meant our families were all close and even co-owned houses around our town. This, all is, until the day of my sixteenth birthday. Everything changed. The loving relationship we shared, was severed and torn apart. I couldn't hardly stand to look at him any more, without spitting fire that is. Every day is torture being around him. He was in all my classes at school and the window in my room was even directly aligned with his. So, what happens? My mother's mum gets sick, so dad and her fly out. Just them. Leaving me to stay with Carter and his parents, who are never home. We would be alone. In one house. Under the same roof. If I was insane before, I have no idea what I am now. © 2016 by LaurenJ22. Summary: I stopped and inhaled for a moment. I realized I hadn't been breathing for a while. My lungs burned as I let out my first breath in ages. I stopped running and slowed down to a walk. I felt someone behind me again and turned to find no one. I leaned against the closest wall I could find. What is she doing to me? I let another breath out and this time saw a cloud of smoke leave my mouth as I exhaled. "Lola, I never thought I would ask this of you but please, leave me," I closed my eyes and swallowed down the lump in my throat. I felt the cold night's wind brush against me. I slid against the wall and fell to my knees. "Just leave me -be," my voice cracked. I heard leaves crunch beside me. The wind picked up again and with it I smelled lavender and roses. Lola. "I'm already dead," I hear her whisper in my ear.

In a world so monumentally screwed up, how does a mentally unhinged girl like Elyssia Dawn fit modern society’s code? She’s an ex-assault-convict with a sour attitude, bitter heart, and lusty resistance to boundaries. Her family disowned her, her best friend despises her, and she can’t get a job. Elyssia wants to prove that she’s not the same rebel who inflicted pain for pleasure, but finds it’s more difficult than imagined after befriending Noah Vaughn, a man incapable of change. In a desperate attempt to find herself, Elyssia soon begins to lose herself instead in Noah’s cozy world of colorful madness. Finding Elyssia is an intense psychological thriller with a quirky overtone. It’s a story about redemption, trust, and harsh realities in a world where morals are bent, lines are crossed, and darkness is accepted.
