Do you ever wonder what it would be like to fit in? To be pretty, popular and just be accepted. I do. Every day. I wasn’t born in a poor family, but they weren’t rich. I wasn’t pretty but not ugly. More like in-between. So I thought. Tall, brunette, skinny and sporty, I thought I was okay. Every day I walk through the school hall asking myself why? Why wasn’t my life as perfect as the girls that I see, why were they blessed with the beauty and me…... Blessed with none. I don’t have many friends, I’m un-noticed. No cares about who I am, the majority of them here don’t even know my name. All I want in life is to fit in, or even just stand out. In a good way. I don’t want to be the one that people ask about after graduation, wondering if I even spent the 6 years with them. I don’t want to be popular; I just want to be acknowledged. I just want to exist.

Oakley has no one. No family and most definitely no friends. She doesn't fit in anywhere and she gets that. There isn't any point in trying to after all those years of being bullied by her peers. It's not only school that she doesn't fit in at, but also at home. Sharing a house with fifteen little kids that she isn't related to can get pretty difficult sometimes. That's what you get living in a Orphanage. Oakley's always being pushed around, and forced to work all the time. Although she is used to it, it would still be nice to have someone to talk to about it. Scott enters Oakley's life with big hopes and dreams to make her happy.
