Published September 28, 2014 Completed Lucy Heartfilia. The girl who was branded as the school's biggest nerd. Lucy was unhappy with her life. She never once had someone be so kind to her as to be her friend. Everyone was just brutal, no mercy for her whatsoever. They didn't know of her home life. Rather, they didn't care. They didn't care that even at a young age, Lucy went home to an empty house. While all the other children were able to be greeted by their family's. Lucy didn't have a family of her own. Her parents were murdered a year after her birth. She was put in a foster home, and even then her foster parents could care less about her. At the age of 6, Lucy ran away from that life. But she wasn't able to escape her bullies. That was, until, Lucy got the chance to leave all of it behind. She was older and had enough money to leave. She moves to a new town. A new school. Lucy figured it wouldn't be that easy to escape all the bad people in life. So she prepared herself. She prepared herself for everything. As so she thought. She meets the most popular kids in the school and learns new things. She falls in love for the first time, just to have it smashed into pieces. After that, Lucy thought she could never trust anyone ever again. She figured everyone was against her and that she'd be alone forever. Forever is a long time and Lucy knew she couldn't make it. Natsu is a new student at Fairy Tail High. He makes friends quickly with his athletic charm. He knows who Lucy Heartfillia is. But he doesn't see her often to get to know her. She's known as one of the best musicians in the whole school. Also she's a huge bookworm. But she loves music more. Lucy doesn't communicate by voice. When she does, she'll only do it to her closest friend. Lucy mostly communicates by music. She plays tons of instruments. Natsu one day is walking down the hall after school, when he suddenly hears piano music. The music is sad. He goes into the room Lucy is in silently. After hearing her play, Natsu wants to listen to more of her music. But even more then that. He wants to hear her voice. Will he get her to talk?

She wanted to leave. She had to leave. She had to get away from him. He was becoming violent. Not only mentally, but physically as well. It was the second time he had hit her when she decided it was time to go. The poor child, only 9 years old and she's felt so much pain. Such a young kid isn't supposed to cry by herself over her mothers death. But she did. She cried all alone, in the rain. Her father ignored his child. He had changed. And it was all her fault, in his mind. Lucy was only 8 years old when her mother passed. Layla Heartfilia. She was ill and knew she had to go sometime. And when she did, Lucy's dad changed. And she didn't realize how much he's changed until the first time her laid his hand on her. Lucy slowly began to fear her once loved father. With a past as terrible as this, Lucy thought no one would understand her. Not only that, but that no one would like her. Although she wished to run away, she didn't know where she'd go, until she found a letter her mother had wrote for her before she passed. It had a place for Lucy to go. She traveled far. Town after town, she felt they were all too close. Her travels came to an end when she found a guild. Fairy Tail. The one her mother had sent her off to. Lucy never had felt so loved like the way she did when she entered the guild. It was the first time in a while that she felt at home.
