"Well, that is it." Sevlia, not hearing a word coming out of the king's mouth, was drawn to the egg sitting upright on the lavishly decorated stand which was covered in gold plating, metal vines lacing the sides of the waist-high pole, slowly twining upward to delicately cradle a large bowl of silver. In that bowl lay a plush pillow, so large that it draped over the sides of the silver bowl. And in the precise middle of that luxurious pillow lay a dragon's egg. The egg was large, at least larger than any egg Sevlia had seen before. The width of the egg was about equal to the width of Sevlia's waist. The height of it was about the length of her torso from top to bottom. "Seeing as no one who dared lay a hand on this egg is worthy of-" As Sevlia gazed upon the dragon egg, she could see its silky texture, how smooth it would feel if she could just stroke its shell. The light yellow color pulsed slightly under Sevlia's unblinking eyes, still mesmerized by the egg, drawn to the egg. "-claiming this as their own-" Sevlia was at last within an arm's distance of the egg, her arms eagerly outstretched towards the magnificent oval. "I am inclined to name the egg's owner as my-" Just then, the king turned around, raising his arm, about to make a gesture to his daughter, when his eyes beheld Sevlia, her hand barely making contact with the dragon egg. "What - what is this girl doing here?" the king shouted, his voice filled with aggravation. "Get her out of-" Sevlia touched the egg, and everything went white.

And in the meantime, she still has to figure out how to be with her betrothed... **Author's note: This story is basically raw - it has not been seriously edited, only the once over before I posted it. It has not been polished up. Please help me out by letting me know if you see any technical errors, if something doesn't flow quite right, or if you find inconsistencies like if a character has blond hair in chapter 3 and black hair in chapter 8. I will gracefully and gratefully accept critiques. Thanks for reading!! I hope you enjoy!

*THIS STORY IS UNDER MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION* Mean. Cruel. Twisted. Smart. Manipulative. Beautiful. Temperamental. Perfect. Possessive. Selfish. Sadistic. Charismatic. A liar. A leader. A bit evil. Those words sum her up pretty well. A mate? Unimaginable. No one would want something like that with her of all people. Giselle EVILynne Jones, I mean Giselle Evelynne Jones. ⇹⇹⇹☾⇹⇹⇹ Werewolves now try to fit in amongst the humans. Giselle's main goal in life was to be the first female Alpha. In the sexist shifter society, only males could rule as Alpha, while the highest position females could take on would be the Alpha's mate. With Giselle being the only daughter of a powerful and influential Alpha, she could accomplish the dream her dead mother had put into her head. All she had to do was keep up with her work and training and in a few years, once her father retires, she would be Alpha. The only thing she had to worry about was keeping those backwards elders out of her way and not find a mate. No one would get in her way of her goal. She won't allow it. Giselle E. Jones always gets her way.

Eighteen-year-old Kali McAlister enters her steam-powered "dogless sled" in a race, intending to win the thousand-dollar prize and escape remote Moose Hollow forever. The problem? Fortune seekers and airship pirates are after her for the secret to flash gold, her late father's alchemical masterpiece. With her modified rifle and a pocketful of home-made smoke bombs, Kali wouldn't normally hide from a confrontation, but taking on a whole airship single-handedly is a daunting task. Unfortunately, the other racers won't assist her--they're too busy scheming ways to sabotage her unorthodox sled. When a sword-slinging stranger shows up, wanting to hire on as her protector, she's sure he has ulterior motives, but he's the only one interested in helping her. The question is...why? Flash Gold is the first in a series of steampunk novellas.

You ladies are great!~ This story is written in the first person. This is my first completed full length novel which I wrote around 2009 and has since been undergoing a LOT of editing and polishing. Feedback is greatly appreciated!!
