Ravine is a planet divided. After years of skirmishing between secessionist and loyalist forces, the spectre of a bloody planet-wide civil war is now all too real. As tensions between the factions boil over into full blown conflict, Darien, Amber and the operatives of Hammerhead Squad are drafted in to help colonial forces restore order. Called back from suspension, Darien is forced to confront a past he tried to leave behind, while Amber finds her principles being put to the ultimate test. The operatives are hurled into a confrontation unlike any they've ever experienced, one that ensures their lives, and the entirety of human civilisation will never be the same again.

"Great power comes with great..." I raised my eyebrows at Guardian, looking his skin-tight suit up and down. "Urges to wear spandex, apparently." "Are you using altered famous superhero comic book references to insult me?" he asked incredulously. I snorted. "You bet your fucking ass, I am." *** Crown City has all the typical big-city flare. There's a McDonald's on every corner, enough carbon emissions to end life as we know it, and a new supervillain trying to take over right before finals week. For Tessa Kingston, Supers are nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, Tessa likes to pretend that Supers don't even exist at all. Though Tessa isn't exactly shy with her not-so-popular thoughts on Crown City's resident vigilante, Guardian, he seems to have taken a liking to the annoyed teenager. Well, he and his buddies have, that is - buddies meaning two supervillains dressed in Walmart Star Wars masks. Crown City has always been a center for mayhem and superpowers, but when strange things start happening too often to be coincidences, Tessa finds herself in the middle of a fight she didn't start but she sure as hell was going to end. Villains torment her. Heroes try to save her. Tessa just wants to pass Supers 101. In a world full of Supers, it's up to normal-teenager Tessa Kingston to save her city. A typical tagline she's well-aware of, of course. As Tessa prepares to show these Super-fools they messed with the wrong girl, she just has one condition: There's no way she's wearing spandex. *** BOOK #1 OF THE "SUPERHEROES SUCK" DUOLOGY Featured on the Wattpad Adventure, Action, Superhero, and Humour profiles! WARNING: Contains mild swearing, cliffhangers, plot twists, and enough sarcasm to last a lifetime.

Would you save someone you didn't even know? Would you risk your life just to help that person? That's the question Amber Colburn asked herself three days after the bomb that hit her hometown. Luckily, she survived, but many people didn't. Some were even taken. Nicholas Barringer is one of few taken hostage. He has no clue where he is or how to escape. All he knows is that he has a phone, giving him the chance to call anyone. By chance, Nick and Amber meet, but not face to face. Over a series of calls, the two untimely couple plan an escape. What will Amber do to get her new friend safe and sound? What will Nick go through to meet this girl? - - - Heat burst through Amber's body. An ear-splitting sound vibrated her ears and bones. Her father had described the same sound once to her before. He said that if you ever heard it, then you had heard the sound of death. Of men and women's screams as they were swallowed by flames. Of precious lives lost and families ruined. Most of all, it was the sound of destruction. The night he had told her that, Amber had forgotten what dreams felt like. - - - Do not reproduce any work in this book under any circumstances. °cover by me° °#688 9/12/16 ;; first °#450 10/6/16 ;; highest° °rewritten 1/10/17°
