In a world where parallel paths rarely cross, fate brings together two souls in an extraordinary encounter. ------ It begins with a kind act -a sore foot and an offer of shoes too big- connecting their parallel lives for a fleeting moment. However, they remain passers-by, destined to drift apart and never meet again. But destiny had written their story in the stars, and the threads of their lives intertwined in ways they couldn't comprehend. He exuded an aura of strength and mystery, drawing her in with an irresistible allure. Her vibrant spirit and unbridled enthusiasm captivated him, breaking through the walls he had erected around his heart. For a man who treasured his personal space and guarded his emotions fiercely, he found himself granting her access, willingly listening to her words and basking in her presence. A profound connection blossoms between them, defying logic and transcending the comprehension of others. They become pillars of support, understanding each other's silences and offering solace in times of need. As their love intensifies, its depth becomes overwhelming, leading him to believe that breaking their connection is the only choice. Little do they realize the profound impact it will have on their lives, leaving them to grapple with the aftermath of a love too powerful to contain. Unbeknownst to him, this choice sets in motion a series of life-altering events. Love, once ignited, cannot be easily extinguished. Its flames leave lasting imprints, forever etched upon their souls. Now, they must navigate the aftermath of a love too powerful to contain. In this tale of chance, connection, and the unexpected twists of fate, Sambo and Kauna embark on a journey that explores the intricacies of human emotions, the fragility of the heart, and the enduring power of love that defies all odds.

Azizah Yusuf is not your ordinary Arewa lady. At twenty-five and still unmarried, she has experienced more than one could ever endure in a life time -the brutalities of war, pain, grief, and heartbreak. Having fled from the war-ridden North-Eastern Nigeria, she and her parents are forced to start life from the scratch in one of the capital city's Area Councils. Despite how professional she appears to be, her past still hunts her and her only life goal is to live a peaceful life. Suraj Ahmad Suraj, an aristocratic medical doctor, has everything he has ever dreamt of. A good job, wealth, and a beautiful fiancée to show off. Though he has his own personal battles, he believes his life is quite perfect. This little perfection, however, was marred when a plain, yet sophisticated 'refugee' woman steps in, and forced Suraj to do a double take at his life. Despite their differences and the little resentment they hold against each other, Suraj and Azizah are forced to work together; both of them however, unaware, unprepared, and unexpectant of the adventures, challenges, as well as the tragedy that lay ahead of them... "Six years of living together," she sniffed. "One would think we'd know each other in all this time." "I know you," I whispered. My eyes were begging her not to leave. "No. You THINK you do, Nadir." That was the last thing she said before she was gone, with my wailing children in tow. ___ Nadir may not say it often, but he couldn't really live without Zaeb. But then again, there are a hundred unspoken promises and silent conversations between couples who have been married for as long as they had been. Only when her charming - and significantly loaded - childhood best friend entered their lives did Nadir realise that he should start saying some of them out loud. ...But maybe it was too late. Her heart was beating so fast and her stomach ached so bad. She knew this was it, this was her fate being sealed. " Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? " It would be weird to ask the Imam a question like " Hey look. There was a really nice old friend of my dad's pestering me to be his third wife and I didn't want to go to Ogbomosho and his proposal came along and everything kinda rushed from there, so does that mean I was in my sane mind when I said...yes?" Surely some level of insanity meant she wasn't sure, right? Must the question be a yes or no answer? Can't it just be a maybe? Something along the lines of ' maybe I'll marry him 'cuz my heart is kinda telling me to but my brain's answer isn't forthcoming?' Wait...does that even make any sense? " Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? " She hadn't had breakfast but she felt like she downed a whole packet of laxatives with the way her stomach danced weirdly. " Zhulfah... " " Yes! Yes! Yes! I do! I do!" She said a bit too loudly into the mic, and was instantly filled with regret. She heard her best friend chuckle lightly behind her and she wanted nothing more than to give her a good beating. She glanced over at her husband to be in a few minutes, and her face heated up when she caught him smiling amusingly. " I mean", She cleared her throat. " I do...accept him as...as..my husband." " Well, I think I'll have to speed up the event and legalize these two", The Imam joked and the whole congregation burst into laughter. Zhulfah's face warmed up several degrees, and she was so sure her face would be burnt before the end of that day with the way she was blushing to a severe degree. The Imam was still laughing, and she knew it won't look like a joke much longer if she had a scissors to his beard.

This is a completed work that is undergoing some major edits. Had to take the whole book down in order not to confuse the new readers. I post each chapter immediately after editing and I promise to do this as quick as I can. Sorry for the inconveniences. Love, Mel.
