What happens when one of the last freakshows comes to your town? Not only is it a grotesque event viewed for pleasure at a circus but one that harbors secrets and hidden evils behind the curtains. Scarlett didn't know what to think when she heard about the circus coming to her town; her town was small, rarely anything visited it. She never expected to be ripped from her life and forced into their society of freaks, struggling to keep their business. She wasn't and would never be a freak, especially ones that didn't know right morals from wrong ones. ___________________________________ THIS STORY CONTAINS GRAPHIC MATERIAL AND POTENTIALLY TRIGGERING CONTENT: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK (18+) I WROTE THIS WHEN I WAS 14. It's not edited but gets better over time as I learned how to write. That being said, some depictions of mental illness are not accurate because was not very knowledgeable at the time. "Anna Karenina" is the tragedy of married aristocrat and socialite Anna Karenina and her affair with the affluent Count Vronsky. The story starts when she arrives in the midst of a family broken up by her brother's unbridled womanizing—something that prefigures her own later situation, though with less tolerance for her by others.
