Hiccup was always considered the weakling of the village, he was bullied, pushed around and beaten up by all the other teens, even his cousin and the girl he loved. but it was only until one day when he shot down a night fury the most feared dragon in the whole archipelago, the so called offspring of lightning and death itself. But when he couldn't kill the dragon he took the other option... and trained it. him and toothless were the best of friends but one day when he is chosen to kill the monstrous night mare in dragon training , he can't handle it so he runs away on the back of toothless, but only for the two to be snatched up by dragons. but 5 years later when hiccup returns to Berk, he is not the hiccup they all once knew.

I turn to the boy as he thrusts his flaming sword towards me. I dodge and I kick the sword out of his hands and it clatters to the ground, the blade retracting and the fire extinguishing. I place my katana sword right next to his neck and I use my other hand to push him to a tree and hold him there. Heat ripples through me at his touch. "Who are you?" I ask, my mask muffling my voice slightly, as I push him harder on to the tree. I inch my sword closer to his neck and he leans his head away from it, gulping. "Uh...H-Hiccup. My name is Hiccup." I was thinking about Valka could leave with Hiccup, but it wouldn't be the same so Hiccup and Valka will meet, but they will meet when Hiccup is 15 and not 20. It does have some spoilers because, in this story, Hiccup and toothless are friends ever since they were both 11 months old(they were also born/hatched on the same day). Give it a chance and it will maybe turn out to be great. It's my first how to train your dragon story/fanfic so don't expect me to do great.
