It's been three years since Dipper and Mabel spent the summer in Gravity Falls, and things haven't been the same. Gideon's out of prison, and he's out to win Mabel's love, and exact his revenge on Dipper. He's teaming up with Pacifica, who wants revenge on Dipper for bringing shame to her family, and Robbie, who wants revenge on Dipper for ruining his relationship with Wendy. Also, Mermando's a human, and Dipper and Wendy's friendship is starting to feel a bit awkward. So...yeah. Things are pretty crazy. (This is the first story in the "Gravity Falls: Three Years Later" series.) In the heat of the moment, Dipper strikes a deal with Bill, for him over Ford. Ford gets set free and Dipper becomes Bill's prisoner. Things become messy after that.
