This story was written to prove a point. I wanted you to know that under everything, we're all pretty messed up, just some more than others. But the fact that they face greater problems shouldn't hinder them. It should make them want to fight for their lives. To be happy and to have a reason to get up every morning. Because life is not a curse, it is an undeserved gift that we must battle to keep, even if that means we have to go down swinging. But you wouldn't understand. Or maybe you do. It all depends on who you know. It is the people in our lives who we take away from, but it is that one special person who you will feel the need to fight for like no other. Her name is Parker. His name is Mikey. And together they can't help but understand each other.

Girls fawn over him. Well, who wouldn't? He's the star soccer player, after all. With the looks no less than a model, he has no problem maintaining his status on the social ladder. He maintains a cool aura around him all the time. They both go to Gradient High, a school that is divided into two social groups: the popular ones and the nerds. But who knew that the most popular guy and the nerd would actually be best friends? That's right! Alyssa and Aaron have been best friends since their diaper days. But at school, they are forced not to acknowledge each other's presence because if they did, Aaron's reputation might suffer and Alyssa may be subjected to something she hates the most: attention.
