Original covers art: http://senju-hime.deviantart.com/art/abandoned-392989553 ***Longer Description Inside!*** The ones we loved, the ones we kept close, the ones we cherished, all taken from us one way or another. No matter how hard you try in this life you will never avoid the inevitable, everyone is bound to die and there isn't a thing we can do about it, the sick thing is, I sometimes think there is. The old world is gone and our new world isn't the kind of world we would wish on anyone to have to live in against their wills. Suicide, rape and murder are just a few of the occurrences we find all around us and it's horrible how we've now just become accustomed to it as if it's as natural as the rain. The abominations that wonder the planet are worse than death itself though and I'm not talking about the murderers and thieves, no I'm talking about the ones who have lost their abilities to think and reason, the humans that have lost their humanity and are acting from their natural instincts and nothing more like packs or rabid dogs finding whatever they can to kill and eat. I am traveling across what's left of the United Kingdom with my brother whom has been my best friend since we were children looking for even the smallest glimpse of hope that may be left. This story is of how I try my hardest to keep a bond of love between my dearest wife who means more than the world to me and myself even during this time of terror in the world, sharing my brothers love is a harder challenge as he see's no hope in this world, he has no remorse for the living and no regret for the dead. but when everything is taken from you, can you blame him? The days when people used to wish for a zombie apocalypse are over, this is no fun and games, this is a mere survival of the human race and our time is close to running out. My name is Lincoln Brown, and this is my story.

After the nuclear war with North Korea I truly have no idea how there is any trace of man kind left on the planet. But those who died during that battle that lasted no longer than a few hours were the lucky ones. They were subjected to instant deaths, and in my eyes and the world I now live in, that is the meaning of lucky. We found home in a small military outpost just south-west of London, we found comfort in it and it is now my home. A world plunged into a nuclear war, one man must be brave enough to rise up against the evils that have spawned on the surface of the Earth. He must be wise enough to lead a group of survivors to safety. He must be smart enough to find a safe place in this world, and I'm afraid that person is me. Dimitri Jones, after the loss of his wife must find a purpose in life again; He must face ferocious foes such as infected flesh eating homo-sapiens. Animals and insects which have evolved and mutated to become carnivorous, all in his discovery for a safe place, and that's just the beginning. A striking coming of age story about self discovery, freedom, safety and love. Prologue extract: There was blood on my hands, a deep crimson liquid slowly dripping down my arms from the scratches and gashes caused by savage teeth. It was sick. No man should ever have to go through what I have just done. I keep telling myself over and over again that I didn't have a choice. Maybe eventually I'll believe it. Although deep down, I know I didn't have either a say or a choice; it was either them, or me.

“Wake the fuck up!” My eyes shot open in a panic. I was waking up to a nightmare, I was waking up hung-over yet a single drop of alcohol had not passed my lips. The room was spinning, I couldn't see straight. I waited for my eyes to adapt to the luminous light shining on my face, blinding me. My arms were dead; I couldn't move them with all my might, strapped down to wood at each side of me.
