The cancer had be tough, the strain it had placed upon the pair was something neither one of them could've predicted back in that old classroom. She sighed hearing the doorbell sound. "Afia, Maddox!" she called, making her way to the door. Hugo lifted his head up watching as Connie opened the door. "Hey." he smiled, she simply nodded moving to the side to allow him entry, knowing the children would be a little while. "Hey Jacob." Hugo looked before turing back to the tv. "No Grace?" he questioned, "No. At a friends." she replied, "I'll go and get them." she added, wanting the interaction to be over.

He grinned as Elle came over kissing him before lifting their daughter, "Sorry it took so long." She commented, "Don't worry about it, I'll see you later." He smiled kissing Isabelle's cheek before getting on with his shift.
