'In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take..." Ivy has walked Middle Earth for almost as long as the beginning of the land itself, surviving the world she was thrown into all alone, with no title. She has lived to see battles and wars throughout the course of time, never truly belonging anywhere or ever having a true calling. She thirsts for adventure, something to fill in the endless time that she will always have until the bittersweet kiss of death... So, it's no surprise when a familiar Wizard shows up, offering a quest, that she just can't pull herself to refuse. 13 Dwarves and a Hobbit make up the company for the long road ahead, each of her companions teaching her lessons. Ivy finds herself learning and evolving from these folk, letting herself feel included again. But will it last...? ~Credit to J.R.R Tolkien for creating this amazing world and story. Looking at the green door, Tala Aerovia took a deep breath. She didn't know why Gandalf had asked for her to be apart of the quest, but she had nothing else to do. Knocking on the door, Tala heard many different noises coming from the other side. "I am this close to losing it." an annoyed and irritated voice said. "So, if this is another dwarf, I'm going to-" the voice stopped once the door opened. On the other side was something that was only heard of through myths. "A-a Fairy?" *** Fairy's, much like the elves were blessed with immortality. However, they were around dwarf height at best, but never the less, they were skilled at what they did. Fairy's were guardians of Middle-Earth, and of the people in it. Sometimes, Fairy's can be guardians of specific people, as long as they make an oath that cannot be broken. When asked to go on this quest, Tala Aerovia didn't expect that she would be taking an oath to keep The King Under the Mountain alive. Nor did she expect that she would make him see that there is more to life than gold.

"Though in all lands, love is now mingled with grief, it still grows, perhaps, the greater." There are stories waiting to be told from all eras of Middle Earth's history, and there are tales from beyond even Middle Earth itself. Within these pages you will find single chapter fanfics pertaining to The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion. But heed my warning, weary traveler. These are not all for the faint of heart. Death lies beyond this door, death and suffering. There may be some which warm your soul, but as with most stories in war time... guard your heart. Just some helpful, easily condensed Tolkien lore for myself and others hoping to accurately explore Arda in fanfiction. I, Silz (as ElwingAndEarendil), was part of the SSG (Silmarillion Survival Guide) team on CouncilofElrond.com which put together a helpful Silmarillion guide for new and old readers alike. This book here is to further that concept and help with all sorts of Tolkien things, including notes in the History of Middle Earth volumes and other published writings.
