百年前の物語の初めに、巨大なヒューマノイドの生き物と呼ばタイタンズは、技術の中世のレベルに委譲し、ウォール·マリア、壁ローズ、ウォールシーナとして知られている壁のシステムに後退する人類を余儀なくされています。これらの壁の内部には、人類は、百年の間、平和に住んでいました。しかし、物語の初めに、巨大な60メートルのタイタンによる突然の攻撃や装甲板で覆われた小さいタイタンは、飢饉と混乱につながる、最も外側の壁は壁マリアとローズの間で土地を放棄する人類を強制的に違反させます。
