The head investigator, Luca's own father, is stumped as the death toll increases. Soon Luca will be next, and if she cannot bring light to the hidden secrets within Altswood High's traditions, then she too will die in this twisted version of the Hunt.

When Aine is sent into the woods for her crimes, she accepts she'll be met with death. The beasts are known to kill any human that wanders into their territory, their razor-sharp teeth ripping through flesh and bone with practiced ease. Aine knows she'll be no different from all the others who have been executed before her, and when she's forced into the woods by her own people, it doesn't take long for the beasts to attack. What she doesn't expect is for them to take the shape of humans and spare her, and even more, for one to claim her as his own.

Rather than cold, the word lonely suits him better. His cynical smile, his eyes - they all look empty. It was like he was tired of everything; traditions, the world, fate. I turned to face him and asked for his name. He only answered, "Noah", as if understanding my reason for questioning. As he opened his mouth to announce that my time is up, we both froze and stared at each other incredulously. It seemed that the world was keen to make a plot twist in my ending story and the empty pages of his life to pair us up as destined mates. His face was torn in between shock, joy and terror. He called out my name and reached out for me, to pull me away from the cliff of my supposedly destined place of death. It pained me to see him that way, so afraid and hopeful, but it pained me more to even imagine a life with a sadistic mate like him. So I jumped, into the dark abyss of death, away from the terrors of my mate.

Her entire body shook from fright, shock, and pain. - Florence was one of the many that hid in her cottage, surrounded by forest and fear. She was innocent, short, and afraid of her fate. She was afraid that if a wolf claimed her she would be eaten or treated like nothing but dirt. But she's in for a surprise. Except every year there's a Mating Find and Claim where the werewolves cross over into human territory to find their mates. Everyone feared and despised the day that came. The humans hid within their cottages and waited if their fate was tied to a wolf. On the night of the Mating Find and Claim, Florence is eligible to be mates to a wolf. The only difference between the wolf that claims to be her mate, is that, he isn't six foot with a six pack like other alpha males; he's seven foot five and can stand on his hind legs with an unruly amount of saliva and muscle. A lycan. Their in the category of the Old Blood, where they've lived for centuries and can withstand up to almost anything. The problem was was that she feared the Old Blood more than anything else. Sure, she was plain and dull, but she was the sort one could settle down with in a few years after the sowing of the wild oats was completed. . .if one could get past how plain and ordinary she was that is. In truth, Lady Lavinia Antrucha was nothing compared to her sister, Cassandra. She had neither beauty nor social notoriety. . .but at least she didn't leave a trail of broken hearts behind her. She's the one people go to when they're in trouble and don't know what to do, the one who is supposed to be the stronger of the two Antrucha girls, the one her parents expect will stay with them for the rest of their lives, because what man would want to marry plain, little Lavinia? The most sought after bachelor in all of Scotland, the life of any given party, that's what they named Laird Ethan Brodi. He was the toast of high society and the man every mother yearned to see on their doorstep, asking to see their fine daughter. He knew there was something more to life than petty women who couldn't see past his fine physique, and he intended to find it; that is, until his father decided he had spent enough time unmarried and forged an alliance with the rich Antruchas by promising him in marriage to the eldest daughter who would certainly match Ethan in good looks and fine tastes. As far as Ethan was concerned, Lady Cassandra Antrucha could take a long walk off a short pier, but his father's word was law, and so to England he must go to meet his future bride. Can he go through with a marriage when his heart yearns for another? #Wattys2016
