Anni Thorston, die Cousine von Raffnuss und Taffnuss ist vor ein paar Wochen nach Berk gezogen und mittlerweile ist alles perfekt: Sie versteht sich mit fast allen Bewohnern Berks sehr gut, ist Mitglied der Drachenakademie und sie hat ihren eigenen Drachen: Zickzack, einen Skrill. Doch leider ist das ein großes Problem, denn der Skrill das Symbol der Berserker, einem gefährlichen Wikingerstamm, der mit den Leuten aus Berk verfeindet ist. Und die wollen 'ihren' Drachen haben, koste es was es wolle. Zudem hat ihr Anführer, Dagur der Durchgeknallte, noch eine alte Rechnung mit Hicks offen.
