So i only recently watched the hunger games and fell in love. I also love Liam Hemsworth so i was disappointed to see that Katniss ended up with Peeta so i wanted to write a story of Gale and Katniss. PS i do not own any characters.

She's in District 12 with Peeta, Haymitch, and Gale's mother and siblings. She hasn't even seen Gale or her mom in over eighteen months. But when there's a fire that sets off an explosion in District 4, Katniss leaves 12 to help in 4. But what was the reason for the fire?? Okay sorry, I'm like REALLY bad at making summaries for stories. I hope you'll like the book more than the description, XP. I DO NOT OWN THESE CHARACTERS OR THE SETTING OR WHATEVER ELSE!! THAT WOULD BE SUZANNE COLLINS, THE AMAZING AUTHOR OF THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY!!!! Also, there are some of Collins' phrases and stuff like that. There's at least one mention of the book Peeta and Katniss were making in memory of the people who died, or the fact that Haymitch has geese, and other things like that. There will be some of my own made up characters but I couldn't do that without Suzanne having written the book, so... And the cover art (which I personally think is pretty dang awesome) was made by janeviiianueva on Tumblr. All credit goes to her. All I did was put my name on it. lol And honestly, the name for this fic came from that cover art, so shout out to her!! (Don't worry, I got her permission. XD)

Katniss never meant for this to happen. She was supposed to fall for Peeta, the boy with the bread. They were engaged for the Capitol's pleasure. For their survival. Gale knew his boundaries. He knew that whatever he had with Katniss had been lost when she went into the games. He knew he had lost her. When Katniss had left the Quarter Quell she wasn't herself. She would never be again. Peeta was trapped in the Capitol. She needed someone to rely on. Sometimes when grieving the loss of one, you find another.

Now we all know of course, that Peeta Mellark was chosen as a tribute with Katniss Everdeen. But what if instead of Peeta, we have Gale Hawthorne, katniss's best friend, chosen? Gale and Katniss has been teaching her little sister Prim, how to hunt like them in case something like this happens. So its up to Prim to remember her training, and feed her and her mom. All credits go to the movie The Hunger Games, but anything that doesn't sound familiar, belongs to me.

This story is the direct epilogue to "Uncovered Passions," but it's ultimately my dream ending for Katniss and Gale, and it's how I envision their future to any story where they end up together. So you don't have to read UP to follow this. All you really need to know is that Katniss and Gale got lost in the woods where the fell in love and conceived a child, and eventually came out and helped lead the rebellion to victory. Their son was born the day the Rebellion ended. His name is Reed Milo Hawthorne, and our story is picking up three and a half years after he was born.
