PEOPLE said that love works in mysterious way. Is that so? James did not know it until one day he realised that he was in love with the woman that he hated the most in his life, Nadine Alexis Mercado. He hated her since the first day she came into his life. She used to be a timid girl that he liked to bully and torture, but now she had grown up into brave lady who liked to challenge his ego. He did not want Nadine to have happy life. So when his grandmother wished them to get married, he took that opportunity to make her life miserable. James wanted Nadine to suffer but his plan got ruined when he started to have feelings for her. How could he fall in love with the daughter of woman that had ruined his happiness and his family? He hated that he was in love with Nadine.

"I won't forgive you." He cut me off. I looked into him and I cringed at the murderous stare he is giving me. "No matter what you do... I won't love you. But I won't let you go..." I now allowed my tears to fall from his blunt statement. I heard him scoffed and within seconds I felt his rough hands pulling a fistful of my hair. "Your tears won't affect me. How many times do I have to tell you that?" He grabbed my cheeks and for a moment a flash of pity was seen from his eyes but it was gone in an instant. When he spoke again, his dangerous tone almost burned me. "You ruined me, Nadine. You ruined my happiness. So I swear... I'm gonna ruin yours."
