Halfpace is the most organized group of assassins in the 20th century. They employing hundreds of "Bluejays"; well-trained killers, doctors, ex-military, businessmen, and spies. Bluejays are used to assassinate high-profile government officials, terrorist group leaders, or an ex-wife if you can afford them. New members don't last more than a few months. Owen Tardy is a pediatrician who suddenly finds himself on the FBI's most-wanted list. He's never heard of Halfpace, let alone killed anyone. Labeled a "Bluejay", he becomes dead-set on proving his innocence.

After the brutal murder of the Fae Queen for her forbidden affair with a human, the darkest of the fairies take over the forest. In a nearby town, there are whispers of the dangers that lurk in the forest, and so it is forbidden to enter, as anyone who has was never seen again. In the forest, unknown to both the fae and the humans, there lives a boy in a cottage who desperately wishes to live in secret no longer. And when a girl stumbles into the forest, he wonders if he has finally gotten his wish.

Eli didn't think much about the city's newest so-called hero, but he supposed Vigilante wasn't all that bad. Granted, he was kind of a jerk and if he ever tried to kiss Eli again he was definitely getting punched.
