She continued to walk, through the tall grass and the small flowers, through the ladybugs and grasshoppers. A butterfly flew in front of her and landed on a flower, just before she heard something. She turned around, and there, standing in the shade of the forest, was a wolf. It stared at her, and she didn't know whether to run or to stand there. She then saw it walking into the forest. She started to walk forward, and as she did, the wolf seemed to walk forward too, slow, so she wouldn't lose the wolf. It disappeared behind the bushes. When she turned around the bushes, she saw the wolf, but it was now wearing clothes. She was starting to wonder if the whole thing was a dream, so she pinched herself, but it was real. The wolf then seemed to take a human form, as the once fur-covered paw was now a hand. Her eyes widened. The wolf wasn't a wolf anymore, but a boy, about her age. He walked forward, and she finally was able to look him in the eye. His black, messy hair seemed to fall effortlessly over his amber brown eyes, which almost glowed in the dark forest. "Keep this a secret, ok?" He said, as she watched the boy walk to the forest path, and he then turned around to her, "Are you coming? You should probably get home, Vivian." She them looked at the sky, the fading pastel colors showing that it was sunset. "C-coming!" As she ran to the boy, she couldn't stop thinking about what she just saw. After all, he was one of her classmates, why would he want to tell her about his secret? Inspired by the manga "Wolf Children: Ame and Yuki." Some of the characters from this book are from the manga, and other characters are some of my own. In the gray and dirty streets of Rootsen, Columbia, a girl lies in the street, sleeping and alone. Her family left her at an orphanage, a few weeks old, because they wanted her to grow up happily and never know that they existed. After all, she was a mistake. But things only got worse. No one wanted a screaming, crying, snotty-nose baby. They always took the little four-year-old girls who seem nice and caring with pink bows in their hair. She was never adopted and grew up in"The Box." At least, that's what she called it, because she felt trapped and thought there was no escape. Until, that fateful night, where she got an idea, so crazy, that even others would never think of it. To run away from "The Box" and show her parents that she was capable of taking care of herself, and so she did. She took her belongings as well as her blanket and food from the kitchen and slowly and quietly, walked out the back door, never looking back and not shedding a single tear.

I stumble awake, the sound of the wind blowing the sand off my face. My eyes are blurry from a good nights sleep. But I'm not in my bed anymore. I realize soon after, looking around in confusion and worry, thinking, " I don't sleep walk, especially to tropical islands." I continue to scan my surroundings, making sure I was safe. That's when I noticed the clouds. They seemed lower than any clouds I've seen. I was walking towards them when the sand started to slope. I screamed and scrambled for something to grab onto, but it was only sand starting to slide out from under me. I saw a quick glance of what was under me. A blue sky filled with clouds. No land. No water. I closed my eyes and hoped I would make it to whatever was below in one piece. But once the sand was finally gone from my toes, the free falling feeling didn't occur. Instead, as I peeled my hands off my face, I looked, and I was still in the sky, in tact, but I didn't know how. Nothing was below me, no land or water. Then I heard a soft flapping of wings from behind me. I quickly turned around to see it. Two wings, elegant and speckled with jewels sprouting from my back. I was flying. Based on a dream I had between May 29th and May 30th, 2016.
