It's not every day that the runt of the litter finds out he's been prophesied back some thousand years ago to become a King - or rather, a Dragon King. [This Fanfic follows the ideas and setup from Cressida Cowells book "How to train your Dragon" while taking the fellow characters and scenery from "How to train your Dragon" the movie created by "Dreamworks" with a new twist on the storyline of both. ]

Hiccup Haddock the third is...to put it bluntly, a useless. While everyone else is out helping in the raids, he's stuck in the forge because he "will cause the least problems" there. He is the runt of the pack, the Fishbone, and the heir to Berk. His father could never be more disappointed in him. The only hope for poor Hiccup, is to kill a dragon. but how? he's so small and they're so big! Well guess what? He shoots down a Night Fury! Yep, he succeeds! He shot down the most feared dragon in History! His inventions aren't all bad! But, what happens when he finally finds the beast and goes to kill it. What happens when he looks into the dragons eyes? What happens when he sees a soul that reflects his own, that looks as frightened as he is? What happens when he cuts the dragon free? what happens when he wins dragon training and has to kill the Nightmare. the answer is, he runs. he runs as far as he can. never to return. - Just to be clear, I do not own the How To Train Your Dragon franchise. Same old story. Hiccup runs away from berk after he is chosen to kill the Monsterous Nightmare. In the coming years he learns how to; hunt, fight, walk stealthily, speak dragonease, and train dragons. After 5 years full of gummy smiles, defeated enemy's, wild dragons and hatred ( and a bit of regret ) towards berk and his inhabitants, the teens and Gobbers go on a trip to find new dragons for the kill arena. As you probably expected, they find Hiccup, Toothless, and all the dragons he and his scaly friend met, healed, and befriended over the years. What is going to happen when they see them? ( you probably know or do not know what is going to happen. But still, I will try and surprise you )

Hiccup and Toothless left Berk thinking no one cared. Being the neglected child of Berk (despite his family, and being the heir to the village), Hiccup decided he'd had enough. He took Toothless and his most treasured belongings and high-tailed it out of there. When he runs into his long-lost mother, life looks up for Hiccup. He's found a place where he belongs. Meanwhile, on Berk, the village assumed Hiccup was dead by a Night Fury's doing and left it at that. Astrid and her friends, however, didn't think such. When a surprise trip overseas and an unfortunate turn of events allows the Berkians to find an odd nest in the middle of nowhere, they may prove that the lost heir to Berk isn't as dead as everyone thinks. //story takes a turn for the worse like halfway through bc i stopped editing it. also i wrote it when i was like 11-12

Berk's only heir is dead - killed by a Night Fury who took his body with it. But they can't wallow in their grief - they're Vikings. So they stand tall and continue on. But then the food runs out, taken by raiding dragons, and Berk, on the verge of death, comes before the infamous Dragon Chief, a man said to have the ability to control dragons. The Dragon Chief reluctantly agrees to help, but Hiccup and Toothless may have bitten off more than they could chew. Please enjoy my unedited story! Toothless has come to the rescue! But how is he going to tell his father about befriending a dragon? Perhaps he should just run away. Yes! That's what he does, with the intention of never coming back. But when a problem arises and he returns to Berk. What will happen next?
