"Shh, keep your head down.", I whispered to Emily. "Why? Wait, do you see him...?", Emily said while peeking over the bush. With her light blond hair reflecting the moon light, she'll surely give us away, so I pull her back down behind the bush, by her pony tail. "OUCH!!!!" Her eyes suddenly reflect an apologetic look then she realizes she's given us away. We dart back towards the woods, but it's too late... He's heard us. His heavy foot steps fall behind us! Emily tumbles to the ground and my eyes flash back at her. I hadn't realized I'd left her so far behind! She'll never make it to the fort- "KAMRYNN!!!" She said while pointing behind my head. A man much, much taller than me had his dagger already half way between me and his muscular stance. Then I hear it..... *CLICK* .....Then the Earth slows, and Everyone is flat on the ground.... Dagger in midair at my nose, and Emily's hand tugging on mine. We run.

A prey lays limp in her arms as she gnaws at its tender sometimes tough meat, licking all the little bits that scattered around slurping every drop of blood that leaked out from the corpse. Hunger fast subsiding, this is one small meal that never last long, like a vampire’s thirst for human blood; it never lasts for anyone of that kind. Imagine you’re carnivore living in a society full of cannibals, you being the odd one out, where would you go? Would you run away and hide like a coward or face them till your last breath? The irony is that I look, sound, and act exactly like them but with a different diet. We should be together, right, united in one harmony? Isn’t that what sane adults teach us to do? Well, think again! Every day, these people look at me like food just waiting, waiting for the right moment to pounce the minute I past in front of them. How do I survive till this far? Good question. I don’t really know myself…

Immortal beings do have rules that they have to abide to. The most important rule – there is no falling in love with a mortal. Ayden Zanshire is an example of a guardian angel. These angels are assigned to protect a particular human and Ayden has a brother that does the opposite of what he does. Meet his brother, Zayne Azhyrs, a fallen angel working as a familiar spirit to harm their assigned humans. Normally, the brothers would stay out of one another’s path, but when they are assigned to the same person… Nobody can tell what is going to happen. Then there’s the bubbly, charming and innocent girl, Hayzel Vry – the human assigned to them. As Ayden and Zayne get themselves mixed into the Hayzel’s life; one trying to protect her while the other trying to harm her, would their hearts get tangled in it as well? Will they break rule number one?
