They could either kneel or die. "We do as they command," Liam continued. The weight of the revolver in my hand was incredibly tempting. It was difficult for me not to literally shoot the messenger. They didn't choose this. The price of their exorbitance is giving up their consciences. They've known this since they were born, and since then they've willingly paid it, over and over. "It's not as bad as you think," he promised. They were all weapons to be wielded. Granted, they were coddled and pampered weapons, but tools meant to be used and bent to their families' will all the same. Sirena Lakeworth-no. Not Lakeworth. Sirena Livingston is caught in the middle of what seems to be the cliché fairytale. When she finds herself plucked from her life in New York City and placed at the elite, exotic boarding school Polaris Academy, she finds that not all fairytales are for children. Sirena's is one of blood, pain, and betrayal gilded with hedonistic opulence. With a group of her classmates, she struggles to tackle the world they inherited-right in the middle of Polaris. Balancing your classwork in one hand and blood money in the other isn't easy.
