BOOK ONE OF THE PROGRAM SERIES *** The Program has three rules. One: no Transfers. Once a soldier has been inducted into one of the Nine Units of the Program, he is bound to that Unit for the rest of his fifteen year service. Two: the Program is trusted to protect the final civilization of earth, the nation of Creatan, and all those within it, at all costs. Three: all those inducted into the Program must serve a sentence of fifteen years. Once he has completed the minimum service of fifteen years, a soldier of the Program may re-enter Creatan as an honored member of society. In a post-apocalyptic and ever-changing world, Aiden Lycroft has dedicated his whole life to the Program and the people of Creatan, of whom he is sworn to defend from any dangers that may threaten the very existence of mankind. Aiden has never questioned the military and government system he has served for virtually all his life, until the very first Transfer in the history of the Program appears in his Unit, shattering everything that Aiden has ever known about the Program he has served and respected for so long. In a series of horrifying revelations and unexpected twists, Aiden's life is turned upside down as he looks beyond the lies that have been fed to him since birth, and begins to learn the ugly truth behind the perfect Program he so strongly believed in. In a world forever torn by war and human affliction, Aiden realizes just how terrifying the world can be when the earth's only hope becomes its worst nightmare.

Not a happy ending. Nor novel structured. Neither predictable, not quite relatable. Let your mind wander, and your imagination run away with you. Because baby, we are at the end of the world.
