WINNER 2015 Wattys #JustWriteIt challenge. Oh my. What large teeth you have? "As you're pretty so be wise, wolves may lurk in every guise." Phobias; we all have them. Heights, Cats, men, women, crying children, Time. They take multiple annoying forms. Me; let's just say I could fill an encyclopedia. Hi; Cyra here. I'll go right ahead and tell you the moral of the story; never trust a stranger, even if it's only all in your head. The sweetest tongue most definitely has the sharpest tooth. Red Riding Hood has won a Watty. Thank you all.

war·ri·or - [ˈwôrēər] NOUN a brave or experienced soldier or fighter - ❝The world is veiled in darkness. The wind stops, the sea is wild, and the earth begins to rot. The people wait, their only hope, a prophecy... 'When the world is in darkness Four Warriors will come....' After a long journey, four young warriors arrive, each holding an orb.❞ - Elric thinks he has gone mad. Of course waking up in a strange town would make you wonder, but when you wake up in a whole other world with super human strength? People are going to call you a warrior. A Light Warrior. Lexa is now at her breaking point. Her memory is gone and all she really remembers is her name. But the other three people around her look familiar too. Waking up with the yearn to go steal and stalk people wasn't on her bucket list. Hope isn't the type of girl to revive her friends or anything but that has seemed to change. With new white magic abilities, she thinks she is dead. Maybe just dreaming. But when she realizes her magic is real, the world is at her fingertips. Dax is scared. When fire erupts on his fingers, and lightning flashes in the sky, he knows something is wrong. An evil force is inside of him. The evil to do good with black magic. This all seems like a story, but when death is handed to him, he agrees to join the fight. They are the Light Warriors. ---- Square Enix.

Before you completely die, there are seven minutes of brain activity left. Seven minutes; Four Hundred and Twenty Seconds that replays all the best and worst memories of your life. Everyone sees different things; some see summer days at the amusement park, while some see their quiet nights with their cup of tea. But for Avianna, she saw them. Them when they first met, them when they had their first date, them when they first kissed, them when they first fought, and everything else in between. She had seven minutes to remember all those, he had seven minutes to try and save her.

Full version of Second Edition available on Amazon and via Kindle Unlimited. Chris Sinclair fades under a dark cloud after losing his mother to cancer. On the cusp of adulthood, he doesn't know where he should go or how to get there. But watching life pass him by was never the plan, and when he is forced to attend a concert in an attempt to coax him out of his shell, he discovers that life might have more to offer. Dante Heron holds the audience between his delicate bow and the tips of his fingers. He plays the violin as if every heart is his to command, but the discipline needed to perfect his skills has left him with nothing to spare. He's a fire that burns too bright or not at all-unpredictable and demanding. When Chris is unexpectedly offered a job to travel around Europe as Dante's assistant, or 'friend', he surprises himself by accepting. Their journey barely starts before Chris realizes he's in over his head. Every step along the way is fraught with tension, and the farther they go, the closer they veer to a breaking point. Invisible strings are at play, stitched into Dante's life by those who should have taught him how to love. Perhaps Chris is right to be afraid, but sometimes, what you fear the most is what you can't afford to lose.

There really wasn't any stopping it. It wasn't my fault that my skin was as dark as the night, or my nose was broader than any other's, my hair was always rough looking and broke easily. There was nothing I could do, because to them I will and always will be, the black girl. HR: #3 Short Story Graphic by caesium-
