It's a terrible thing to hear your parents verbally bash your sibling, and even worse when they're not there to defend themselves. Bronwyn was a tearaway teen, that's for sure, but she still loved her Mother, even I, not the most observant of people, could see that. However, I couldn't say the same about Mum. Sure, she took care of her, and treated us equally, but it was blatantly clear that she favoured me over my sister, even before Bronwyn's adolescent rebellion had begun. As much as I hate saying it, Mum just could not bring herself to love Bronwyn, and I could never understand why.
