Ide is the third-born princess of the isolated, rigidly superstitious kingdom of Abfhaenn, where tradition is worshipped and change is feared. Her secret? An enchanted ring, left to her by her late mother, which renders its wearer invisible when turned counter-clockwise. It's a dream come true for Ide, an awkward spare heir whose greatest wish is to disappear. But the king of the valley is dead, and the throne is perilously near the grasp of the last person who should take it: his spurned younger brother, the glitteringly charismatic Lord Graeme, who will stop at nothing to take back what he's owed. The last thing Ide wants to do is draw attention to herself, but when her mother died, she left behind a mystery that only Ide could possibly solve. With the aid of a mysterious alley cat and an irritatingly dreamy stable hand, she's forced to realize that the ring might be the key to stopping Graeme - but taking action means being seen, and failure comes at a fatal cost.

Hush little baby, don't you cry... --- 'Welcome, dear child.' The words continued to appear on her wrist, spilling partway down her arm as if branded there in black ink. 'Those who enter the Hushwood do not leave it. Those who try do not survive it. Reach the center as swiftly as you can, else you shall die. 'There are three things you must remember in order to survive. First, destroy the mirrors. Second, never go near the Child Prisoner. And third, keep the girl in the library alive.' --- [updated whenever I get the chance] cover by me ^.^

"Our kingdom was once beautiful, but now the towers are everywhere. They say that Queen Rapunzel has lost her mind--and I believe them. Before, I might have felt sorry for her, but now I just fear her. I fear the sound of her soldiers pounding at the door, demanding that I be taken away. I fear the towers." Years after the original tale of Rapunzel took place, the kingdom--left to the grief-stricken Queen after her husband's death--is falling apart. People live in constant fear of the many terrible towers across the land, built by her Majesty's decree to imprison any who dare question her. Bird's nothing but a girl from the north, but when someone she cares about is taken by the mad Queen's soldiers, she'll stop at nothing to save them. With nothing but her friends, a sled, and a mind full of songs, she sets out to get rid of the towers, once and for all. DISCLAIMER: this is a retelling of the *ORIGINAL FAIRY TALE* by the Brothers Grimm and has no connection to Disney's version whatsoever. DISCLAIMER PART II: I wrote this book when I was 15 and am still in the middle of huge revisions that I haven't posted here yet! Please feel free to read, but keep in mind this is a work in progress. :)

COMPLETE #1 in Fantasy #1 in Adventure #1 in Historical Fiction ---------- Sometimes, believing helps us to see truth. Other times, we need a little evidence to believe. But there is truth behind everything; every false manoeuvre, ever little lie...a small piece of truth is hidden. Just like truth is wound into legends too. Then she lost her father at a young age and Arabelle was forced into a world of dresses, balls, and lies. Being a tomboy, Arabelle would have rather been out on her horse doing archery practice with her brothers. When Arabelle gets curious and sneaks into a forbidden area of the castle, she discovers a deadly secret: her bloodline is sacred, dating back to a legend surrounded by the one thing she knows not to be true. Unsure what to do, she gets caught up in a series of events that lead to her being hidden and whisked away from the only familiar place she knew. After making some unlikely allies, Arabelle sets off on a journey to find the legend of the last dragon egg. Fate has something big in store for her; will she be able to withstand the pressure of it all? There is one thing Arabelle needs to learn to survive this new place...
