His life hadn't been a bunch of laughs either during the war, and after he and his mother were set free, with Harry Potter's plea they were somewhat innocent, Draco wanted a chance to try one more year of school, also Drama free. So what happens when the two find out they are the school's new Head Prefects? Hermione can see something different about her former enemy - he's completely changed. Is it just an act? Or has Draco Malfoy, Hogwarts badass actually changed? Will they get along now he seems different? Or will they be throwing hexes at each other every night in their common room? Only time will tell. After the war Hogwarts was rebuilt and reopened. Among the many students returning to school are Hermione and Draco who are a few of those finishing their 7th year. Though things won't be as crazy as they are used to, one event imperticular holds promise.

"Malfoy?" I repeated. "Kiss me." He said, suddenly. "Might as well start now." He looked at me expectantly, so full of desire, that I couldn't breathe for a moment. The emotion in Draco's eyes was something far different from the need I had grown used to seeing in Ron's eyes. Draco was looking at me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered at that very moment, his eyes devouring me hungrily as if they couldn't believe that I was really in front of him. In spite of myself, I stepped further into his embrace, pressing a hand to his chest. His hand remained on my face, still but a whisper of a touch, as if afraid that if he pushed, this fragile moment would shatter beyond repair. I stared up at him, confused by his hesitation. These were just lessons, right? I was so used to kissing Ron that this was strange, what made it even stranger was that it was Malfoy I was going to kiss. His hand unconsciously drifted to my waist, and he pulled me closer gently, making it clear that this was my choice, and I could break the embrace if I wished. His face came closer to mine, slowly but steadily, and it stopped just centimeters from mine. He was so close now, that I could see a faint scar on his lower lip. Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger? Impossible some would say but nothing is impossible. True love always conquers in the end and hopefully it will conquer in this story too. The war is over at long last and with some hard labour, time and a final wave of the wand, Hogwarts is reconstructed to look like its old self. The secret passageways, the pesky house elves and the magnificent food. It's only fair to let the people who missed their last year of Hogwarts to come back and have all the opportunities that they could ever want. This is why Harry, Ron and Hermione came back to Hogwarts, thankful to be away from the chaos of people asking for their photographs and signatures. Draco Malfoy also came back after being cleared of his previous records. He has always had strong feelings for Hermione but had never acted on them.
