After the death of Kellin's best friend Hayley, Kellin quickly falls into a depression. As he moves through the motions of answering the questions of his psychologist and the teachers at his boarding school, Pine Hills, he starts to believe that he's going crazy. He thinks he's seeing the ghost of the boy who committed suicide years ago in the halls of that very boarding school. And he might even be becoming very close friends with this so called ghost.

Therapist: A person skilled in a particular kind therapy. Kellin Quinn: A certified therapist who helps patients diagnosed with chronic depression and have a past with suicide. One Problem: Almost all of his clients end up taking there own lives some point after visiting him. Yet, no one has really taken note of this connection. Except for Victor Vincent Fuentes, who thinks there's something more than a high suicide rate in their area. He then begins to question all of Kellin's motives. And trust me, he's no ordinary therapist.

How would you cope if you were sent to a troubled children's home. How would you cope if you keep being reminded of your past How would you cope if you begin to fall in love with someone just as messed up as you. That's the reality for Vic Fuentes. Kellin is spoiled by his parents who are the richest in California. Kellin is well-known for his wealth. He uses his money for 'partying' ( Drugs, alcohol, etc.) and his parents start to take notice when he ends up on the state's drama channels, magazines, blogs, etc. They decide to get him a 'baby-sitter' known as Vic Fuentes who is poor and needs the money. His job is to watch Kellin and try to prevent him from getting into trouble. As long as he does his job he gets paid a lot by Kellin's parents. They may annoy each-other at first but things could change, they may start to like each-other.

Vic Fuentes never thought anything bad would happen to him. He had a pretty decent life; star-player of the soccer team at his high school, good grades, girls swooning over him. Vic never really took danger precautions seriously. One drunken night, he’s dared to go into the woods alone in the middle of the night while drunk to sleep there. That’s the night when his mindset about danger changed. Kellin Quinn-Bostwick was always the loner boy. His life was as low as someone’s life could get; abusive parents, bad grades, no friends. He was also openly gay. People never tried to tease him or taunt him about it; or about anything, for that matter. Everyone knew Kellin could kill–literally. He watches Vic and his drunken friends near the woods and decides, without thinking, how to ruin their night. He doesn’t know it yet, but Kellin only made Vic’s night better. Now in a steady relationship with Oliver Sykes, Kellin's mind hasn't slipped back to Vic, not yet anyways. But it will.

I've always heard the theory that being in an insane asylum corrupts your brain more than the actual disease does. Never did I realize I'd live that theory.
