Kamiya grew up in Harlem where people steal from the old and don't give a damn about the young. After Kamiya's father passed due to a drug overdose she's left with her mother and her bother Tariq. Kamiya has lived a rough life but she still remains in school so she can have a better life and future. When Jermaine comes into her life she realizes that even though she may not have everything she wants at least she has the things that matter . After Jermaine's parents died he was left out on the streets with nothing. He has been out on the streets for his whole life and when Kamiya comes along she try's to help his situation but his pride is too strong and he acts like he doesn't need help.
