The doctors nicknamed it 'blurry face', and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it; Dan will have to live without faces. That is, until he meets Phil Lester - the 'bad boy' of Dan's new school - who's face is strangely visible to Dan; much to Dan's wonder and Phil's distaste.

Phil Lester hasn't had the best past. He was bullied and tormented because of his sexuality and had no friends for a long time. He then moved to London where he met Chris and PJ who help get his life back on track again. Suddenly he's under a spell when 'The Lonely Prince' - Dan Howell walks into the room and smiles at him. Every time Phil sees Dan he gets butterflies in his stomach. Someone from his past is out for Phil and will do anything to prevent Dan from getting close to him. This is just creative writing. He is trying to choose the right people to do the right jobs and is still waiting for his maiden to find him. Phil is a magician and is the assistant to the head of The Black Enigmas, a group of specials wanting to bring down the king and release all the specials from the dungeons and out of slavery. He gets sent on a 'track and report' mission to find information and plot where and what to do at the attack. He tries to do what he is asked, but Phil can't control his emotions around his target.
