"What is this place?" I ask snapping the latch behind me carefully before crouching down to look at the mystifying chunks of black, glowing rocks around us.
"I - I don't know..." Becca whispered hastily, sounding just as scared and puzzled as I felt.
Slowly I crouched down onto my knees. Whatever these small rocks were made of, they weren't meant for comfort. They pierced small holes of pain into my shins and by the looks of how jaggered and splintered the edges were, they looked as sharp as the tip on a razor blade. If I pressed anymore weight onto the stones, they'd probably cut me.
Glancing up I looked around.
Black. Black everywhere. No light except the occasional glint from a stone on the ground. This was impossible as there wasn't a sun, neither was there any sky, at least Not that I could see....
I stood up slowly and reached out to clutch my mothers fabric from my pocket.
"I don't know where we are Bec." I say rubbing the silk between my thumb and finger. "But it's definitely not the orphanage...." "Definitely not home."
