In search of a magical map to show her the way, she instead finds Warrick Roberts, and makes him a deal that could save his family from their debts and make them wealthy besides.Warrick accepts against his best judgement, but things on the Jolly Roger aren't always what they seem. Can Warrick and Carrigan fulfill their quests? Or will the tides of misfortune be high enough to drown them both?

The world, has been destroyed. Buildings lay in rubble, houses lay abandoned and the roads and green fields, now a wasteland. An event only known as the Divine rain, has wiped out all infant and adult life. Those that remain are children and teenagers. They awaken to find all trace of their memory and identity stolen away from them. Who am I? Where am I? Are the questions they all ask...but no answers can be found. Their only clue is a single message. "THOSE CHOSEN BY GOD, SEEK THE SILVER PILLAR AND THERE YOU WILL FIND SALVATION" join them in their journey. Soon the Orient is pulled into the sea of what the people call a World War. Meanwhile, Luke Ignis is but a reckless, sixteen-year-old who hunts animals just to keep his sickly sister alive.
