A family of four along with one young cat. It was supposed to be a peaceful visit to their dad's father who lived on the coast of Japan, until the earthquake hit. Everything was moving. But after it stopped, the tsunami came. She lost everything but the cat, which was now hers, to it. Her elemental powers were the only thing that saved her. When she arrived in New York, it wasn't easy, but she and her cat managed. Just. With elemental powers and basic martial arts skills to help fend off thieves and other bad people, she kept her few belongings and more importantly, her and her cat's lives. Depending on a job with a small pay to provide the necessary shelter of a sleeping bag, and even just food and liquid to satisfy the two being's hunger and thirst, they both soldiered on. They survived on their own. Though when Whisper approached, a few outcasts of society came to their rescue. When she looks out to sea, hears the water moving, she recalls the tsunami, hears the terrified screams of her family and herself. But even so, she loves the water. After all, it's one of the elements that are part of her. _____ Book one in the 'Chasing Gems' series. _____ Song: Rubix Cube by Athlete.

"Come back!" She screamed. But the voices only left her farther behind. For months she's waited, never giving up the thought that they'd come for her. Others had related to her the tales of how they'd come to be. She knew, deep down, that they would find her. But when they do chance upon her one night, her hopes are shattered. They run right passed her, conversing amongst themselves. She watched them go, knowing they must not have seen her. Disappointment replaces hope, but the longing to be free still persists. [Book 3 of the Coldblooded Compassion series] "I'm just your student, after all." She isn't social, nor does she want to be. Instead, she strives to be knowledgeable in every textbook available to her. Her only desire in life is to be just as smart as her mother, to live up to her parents' expectations. The pressure of being just as successful as them is not stressful to her. Quite the contrary, it makes her work harder to achieve her dream. With studies and seriousness, she leaves no room for shenanigans. She has her entire future mapped out to a T. Being reckless is not a part of her plans. He has never been one to treat life seriously. Instead, he struts around with his collection of sports gear and does whatever he feels like. School absences are common with him. Homework is optional in his eyes. All he cares about is living life to the fullest, and high school will not accomplish that for him. With no true plan in sight, he carries on being his usual self: reckless. Meanwhile, there lurks yet another evil plot in the shadows of New York City. Growing desperate with their ambitious ideas, enemies have now resorted to extreme measures. As unstoppable forces, they chase down the most illegal, deadly materials that they can find. This new plan is so dangerous that it might not just achieve revenge, but start a whole new war entirely. Suddenly, the holiday season has taken on a horrifying meaning for Casey Jones. [Book 2 of the Coldblooded Compassion series] "I hate you." After suffering for months inside a place that isn't supposed to exist, she isn't in the best shape. In fact, she's practically beyond repair. Even her best friend can't find the power to heal her. She goes from day to day willing her positivity to return to her. She finally begins to accept her new, tragic reality when an old face pops up. But the newcomer isn't alone. With him comes a set of companions who she automatically finds an interest in- a strong interest. He isn't in the best shape either, but it's not a twist of fate that has made him this way. He's lost many friends that were close to him, but that isn't the reason he behaves this way. Deep down inside his heart is a black field of despair and anger. It bubbles up constantly, sending him into fits of unnecessary rage. This has given him the title of "hothead." But don't tell him, or it might be the last thing you say. To add to the chaos, the Shredder has finally wrapped his fingers around New York City. After the turtles saved New York from the Kraang invasion, Shredder stepped forward and claimed the heroic title. His sly and deceitful personality is perfect to fool ignorant citizens, so he always gets his way. And right now, he wants the turtles' heads. It gets worse. A storm has started to brew in a distant forest, causing living things to melt into mindless monstrosities. The infection taints anyone who comes into contact with the creatures, infecting them with the same disease. Matters get worse as the turtles return home to find that the storm originated from New York City. Everywhere they turn, there are hundreds of innocent people who were taken captive by the mysterious rain. And without a fix, this may be a race to save lives that they can't win. "I hate you, too." "You're weird too, Raphael. But...I like weird." Her anger has built over the years, festering inside of her like a disease with no cure. It is dragon fire with a heat that nothing can extinguish. She sees red, the colour that has always fuelled her reckless determination, hidden her fear, and coloured her hair. When her life took a turn for the worst and betrayal smacked her in the face, she took matters into her own hands. She took off into the night with what she could carry and never looked back, always looking ahead to the next best thing with hardly a thought for the world she left behind. She's waiting for something to make her happy. She's searching for the fire that will reignite that passion inside her and bring her back to life, but she has no idea what that could be and if she's being honest, she doesn't want to find out quite yet. What if it all comes crashing down again? The walls are up. It will take great strength to knock them down and a steady hand to repair what lays behind it. Everyone is moving on with their lives, moving on to bigger and better things, and he's stuck in the same place he's been for years. They share the darkness and yet, together, they start to see things in a new light.

"However, you say I am human in a sense, that my body is simply fused with the robot that I have been raised to believe I am. Could you teach me...emotion?" The Kraang tried to take over the city of New York twice, and only once did they succeed. The screams of civilians permeated the cold air as Kraang moved through the streets, armed to the teeth. Mutagen rained down over passerby, asphalt cracked, fires raged, and as the city grew silent, a lone van drove off down the road. Within the isolation of her TCRI Kraang cell, she watched the humans lose. Later, she watched the humans as they were saved. She felt nothing. Subject 60184 has known no other life than one full of Kraang droids and experiments. She's a cyborg who's been raised alongside the Kraang, but her hatred for her alien captors is unrelenting. For sixteen years she has lived as an almost emotionless test subject, forced to watch the big, wide world pass by without her. To the Kraang, she is an object, not a human being. This cyborg knows better. She knows what she wants, and she knows that they've made the wrong enemy. It's time to rebel. Book Three in the Mutations Series Song: The Scientist by Coldplay

"In Saskatchewan, when I couldn't fall asleep, I'd watch the moon and think about how across the country and over the border, you were probably out on a rooftop beneath the same moon. You were the first person I enjoyed the moon with. Every other time, I was alone." The Kraang's plot to take over New York has succeeded. The turtles, Destiny, April, Casey, and Diaval have managed to escape to the outskirts of the city, but not without loss. With Leonardo gravely injured and their Sensei gone, the moods of the group are pessimistic at best. Their minds are stuck on the city they left behind, but they know that they can't go back. Not yet. Now, they have to get used to living in April's family farmhouse; cleaning, training, and cooking for themselves. Of course, the lives of the turtles and those near to them are never normal. There are plenty of new mutants, both friend and enemy, lurking in the moonlit shadows of the forest around them, making their lives all the more interesting. All the while, they're healing from physical and mental wounds, helping each other grow stronger, and learning more and more about the past, present, and even the future.
