Izaya finds Shizuo badly injured and then brings him to Shinra's to get him help. But he can't seem to separate himself from his injured enemy.

After years of fighting, Izaya decides he is no longer interested in playing with Shizuo. He decides to go out and tell the 'brute' just that so hopefully, they can move on with their lives. Unfortunately, Shizuo misunderstood! He thinks Izaya doesn't want to fight him because the 'flea' is in love with him. Shizuo resolves to become closer to Izaya, while the unknowing informant is taken aback by the change.

Izaya finds himself subconsciously returning to Ikebukuro after an unspecified amount of time and, of course, Shizuo finds out. What happens when they see each other again for the first time in a long time? "Hey Shizu-chan? Can I ask you a question? It's a little personal." Izaya never thought he would find himself in such a situation- talking with Shizuo under the artificial light of cheap stars. On his bed no less. Although he shouldn't have been so surprised, it was happening an awful lot lately. "What is your biggest fear?" He asked without expecting a response, but after a few seconds of pondering he got an answer that was no louder than a whisper. "My biggest fear would have to be..." The ravenette took it upon himself to guess it, but all attempts were fruitless. For all the years Izaya had known the man, he never showed a sliver of fright towards any obstacle. In fact, he himself couldn't understand why he had never been afraid of the other. But lately there had been an inkling of emotion, perhaps a little unpleasant whenever Shizuo walked in the room. It was something that could resemble fear, he realized, but the word left Shizuo's lips before Izaya could dare to think it. It's funny though, how along the way the words 'Stay out of Ikebukuro' morphed into something else, something gentler than he could ever imagine.
