Irene Bae is a high school senior living in Seoul, South Korea. Her father left her family for an American woman just a year ago and Irene is still trying to find ways to cope. One of her main strategies is staring at her crush, Wendy Son. Wendy, who has only spoken to Irene around three times, is dealing with her own problems. She doesn't like her boyfriend, Mark, and can't find a way to break up with him. But there is hope for both girls when the school bully, Jennie, confronts Irene about something. With the kind heart she has, Wendy can't sit and watch Irene get terrorized by Jennie, so she helps her.
