Lizzie Connell is a lonely sixteen year old girl who longs for a family. Her mother died when she was a child and her father is an alcoholic who distanced himself from his daughter while trying to come to terms with the death of his wife. When the Matthews move in next door, Lizzie finds herself presented with everything she's ever wanted: a family, friends, and love.
