Some people were able to make it to underground bunkers and, for the most part, survived. Others were stuck on the surface. One in a hundred people lived. The survivors became genetically mutated over time. They developed powers such as being able to control or create things. In 5035, the people underground came back up. They were horrified by this new race of humans and killed the majority of their population. The survivors went into hiding as small towns were rebuilt.
