"Promise me something?" "What is it Lyza?" "If we're both single when we're thirty, marry me?" Best friends Jackson and Lyza made a silly, ridiculous promise when they were sixteen. A month later Lyza disappeared from Jackson's life. He had to make it through the hardships of high school and the police academy without his best friend. Now he's a functional adult only three months away from his thirtieth birthday. Lyza comes back, bringing with her a stalker that's far too violent for Jackson's liking. She disappears a few days every month and can't stop talking about their upcoming wedding. How does Jackson tell her he just wants a normal life, away from her?
