It has been a couple of months since the death of Kaori Miyazono. Kousei Arima has been accepted in an overseas academy, forcing him to leave those close to him. On his new musical adventure, he encounters a joyful girl, who reminds him of Kaori; bringing back painful yet enjoyable memories.

Neither of them understands love yet and experiences the growing pains of it. A sad story about not wanting to hurt the other, thus distancing themselves. In his final days, he swears that he will reunite with her, if only to thank her. It's the least he can do, after all she did for him.
