Dies haben die Einwohner den Schülern der Spiegelakademie zu verdanken, der großen magischen Schule, die jedes magische Wesen aus Falinde aufnimmt und ihm lehrt, seine Magie weise einzusetzen. Die Schüler helfen den Städten bei Gefahren und werden nach ihrer Ausbildung als Schutzmagier eingesetzt - doch nach und nach verschwinden Schutzmagier, Gefahren und Chaos in Falinde wachsen an. Ein Team wird ausgeschickt um dem Ganzen auf die Spur zu gehen doch nur ein Überlebender kehrt zurück und berichtet von grausamen Kreaturen die alles verschlingen, was ihnen über den Weg läuft. Schnell wird klar, dass etwas Böses die Existenz der Spiegelakademie und ganz Falindes bedroht. Eine Gruppe aus Schülern und Lehrern macht sich auf die Suche nach dem Ursprung der Bedrohung und stößt dabei auf grausame Ereignisse der Vergangenheit.
