High school you can either love it or hate it. I hated it. I was a nobody, I had no friends, I wasn't popular and I was bullied on a regular basis. So why would my last year be any different from the first three? Two words Damien King. He was the new guy and that instantly made him interesting. After being shipwrecked on a remote jungle Island in the middle of God knows where, Rizpah is rescued by a barbarian who stashes her away in his cave. Will she ever be able to tame this cave-man and change his savage ways? How will she go back to civilization when she has no means of travel? Hur cannot believe his eyes when he sees a golden-haired angel in the jungle close to his hide-out. But his surprise quickly turns to suspicion and mistrust when he remembers the white-skinned people who invaded his home and took his brother and some of his other tribesmen away across the ocean. Now they are back and are building settlements on his land. And they had the same hair color as this wench! Will Hur ever let go of the past and embrace what is to come? Join these two polar opposites as they try to find common ground so they can live together in peace.

No one knows what will happen in the future. No one knows about the little twists in fate that happen all around us on a daily basis, as people wander around making everyday choices. Who knows if one them will change their person's life for the better, or for worse. This is a short story that I wrote for a competition put in place by my English teacher.
