Elliot is not about to take any condescending verbal bullsh*t from any human BEING (you just wait for his review of that story - he's going to take you apart one sentence at a time). Elliot isn't an idiot after all, and he certainly isn't about to risk ending up locked in some cage and kept as a pet - (although... well, no matter!) only to discover that there is no fun to be had for his troubles - or at least, none that he'd approve of.
