Kira West, I am deeply in love with you. Your lustrous hair and twinkling eyes have captured me since I first laid my eyes on your smokin' body. Your dazzling smile is incomparable to any mortal object, and your laugh reminds me of soft bells ringing in the distance. This may seem a bit soon to ask you this, but will you do me the honor of slapping me with a loaf of bread? I understand that it may be too soon in the relationship to do such an intimate act, but I feel as if I know you, that I understand you. If you wish, you may leave me a response on the space below, and leave it under your desk after your first period. Much love, Archer P.S. I'll still love you even if you decline me of this wonderful offer. - highest ranking: #23 in short story featured on every list for short story third place in the winners awards

He needs a place to live, she needs a baby daddy. Pietro Santangelo and Marguerite White are students at prestigious Columbia University in New York City. She is a fun-loving, free spirit who finds herself in a bit of a familial bind, he is an exchange student with a chronic case of poverty. They concoct a plan that they think will work, not realizing how much changes with two simple words... Pete merely looked at her and opened a box of books. He took some out and began placing them on the shelves, bending and stretching at his task. He had a nice back, broad shoulders and muscles that could be seen clearly under his light blue T-shirt. Daisy watched for a minute, fascinated. "Like what you see?" he asked without turning around. She jumped at the sound of his voice. "Well, you're the only thing in the room that's moving, you know?" she said by way of explanation. He turned around to look at her, books in either hand, a small grin on his face. "Of course, what was I thinking?" he asked rhetorically. "And look. We're both adults here, hm?" He looked carefully at her. "The couch we just brought up here cost fifty dollars at the second-hand store, and has to be at least thirty years old. I don't want to sleep on it, and I don't think you're going to want to sleep on it, either." She shook her head. "So the bed is nice and big," he continued. "I think we can manage, don't you? We can share the bed." He watched her for her reaction. "I give you my word this is not going to be a problem for me. At all. Is this going to be a problem for you?" She looked at him. "Really? At all?" She recovered from the unintentional meaning of his words quickly. "No, it won't be a problem for me, either," she said firmly. "We can share the bed." "Make sure you are something before you fade to nothing," is a statement that Lucky takes to heart. At Bayridge High, a prestigious boarding school on the east coast of the U.S.A., they have a legend. A legend of tortured teens, and lost souls, a legend of tragedy. Bayridge has the highest suicide rate of the country, and one of the highest cumulative GPA's. Every cautionary tale, every kid who died young in that school kept a record in the suicide notebook. Detailing their thoughts, their feelings, their everyday lives until their lives were history. And Lucky knows he's next. He finds the notebook from subtle clues dropped by a mysterious upperclassman. He expects to find stories, beautiful and tragic in their nature. What he finds is so much more. A note: This story is labeled as sci-fi. I swear most of the weird things and things that seem slightly off around lucky will be scientifically fictionally explained. It becomes very very sci fi when the huge gigantic plot twist occurs.
