Mindy is a normal inkling who has a normal life. She moved to Inkopolis a few months ago. Her besties, Lucas and Riley live there as well trying to make this the best summer they can make it. Mindy's life was perfect until a certain evil stole the Great Zapfish. An old man predicts that this has to do with the 100 year turf war many years ago and it's up to Mindy and her friends to save the Great Zapfish while learning more about each other and learning many secrets along the way. Will Mindy and her friends prevail?

Inkopolis is home to many of the best Turf War participants. Mayu, a strong female Inkling, was apart of one of the best Turf War Teams, The Inketes. The Inketes was an all girl team and only allowed the best fighters. Daisuke, a male Inkling, was apart of the Splatters, an elite Turf War Team.
