Ariel Brooks lives a good life. She has an amazingly large house and a wonderful puppy and a great best friend. She even has one thing that most teenagers would die for- her own house. Well, not technically, but she does live by herself. Her dad is always away on business and her brother is out of the house, so she has the house to herself. She does what most people would do in this situation- parades around without pants on, drinks milk out of the carton, and plays her music way too loud. Ariel isn’t particularly happy about being alone so much, but she doesn’t complain because she knows that she has a good life. That is, until her best friend asks her for a favor of all favors and it changes Ariel’s perspective on everything.

"So this was all just a game to you . . .this whole time, you pretended to like me in order to humiliate me in front of the entire school?" An air of melancholia surrounded me, eyes watery like never before. "Were your feelings for me ever real?" There wasn't even a trace of an apologetic expression on his features as he tucked his hands in his pockets, before he gave a nonchalant shrug. The sudden urge for revenge became a prominent priority. He regarded me passively. "It's not my fault that you fell for me in the first place." he justified as he advanced my way, closing the gap between us. Unstably, I strode backwards on the concrete. ". . .stay back." I whimpered. "You're nothing but cold hearted." ·•● Two years ago, Emery Roy was tragically exposed to what some could call an intense betrayal all thanks to the originator - Dean Darnell. Everything went downward spiral after they started dating. What appeared to be a match-made in heaven, turned from blissful to disastrous the moment Dean humiliated Emery in front of the entire school, leaving her completely heartbroken. So to avoid him at all cost, she did what any person would do: transfer school. Fast forward two years later. What happens when she's returning back to Roosevelt High, for the first time during senior year? She only has a few tasks: avoid Dean and face her obstacles. The only question is will she succeed or will she get fooled again? From my appearance, anyone could tell there was at least one thing I was struggling with, my weight. It was no secret, one look at me, you just knew. I think the worst part about it, was denying my weight was even a problem. Its not like I haven't tried everything there is possible. I went to the gym everyday, sometimes even twice a day. I did home workout videos, dieting, weight watchers, counting calories, and practically starved myself. Yet, it seems like nothing had ever really worked. I'd lose 5 pounds, and then gain them back a few weeks later. After taking several nutritional courses online and joining a gym without everyone I know working out there, I am finally noticing some success. Plus, it doesn't hurt that some of the gym staff is noticing too. This story is loosely based on someone that I know, that went through some of what this main character will go through. I hope to get some feedback on this, and have some readers hang on long enough for me to complete this story! PLEASE NOTE: This book is not being made to offend anyone for how they look, or make anyone believe their appearance defines who they are. Please do not take offense to anything written or how the main character feels towards herself.
