When protection and passion collide. She can run, but she can't hide. Jessica Turner tries her best to blend in. Joey Cavannaugh has been on the Boston police force for three years. His number one priority has always been helping people. Reader discretion advised. EXCERPT: As he leaned over with his arms folded, resting on the table, I took a second to admire the way his slightly messy hair fell in front of his face and the back of his black jeans hugged his ass. He glanced up at me, knowing I'd been staring at him, and I felt my face heat up. "I'm going to give you fifteen minutes to grab a bag with some spare clothing, your toothbrush, and whatever necessities. Then we're leaving," Joey ordered. He walked back into the living room and plopped down on the couch, tapping his foot impatiently. "If I go with you-" "When you go with me," he corrected. "You will not take your phone or computer because they can be tracked. And now you have fourteen minutes."

Louisa Hurst is an introvert. With her average grades and quiet ways, she drifts through high school under the radar. Or, at least she did. When Louisa is thrown into a situation stirred with the definition of 'trouble' her whole life seems to change around her. An unlikely presence makes a sudden entrance into the quiet life she lived, hell-bent on making her life difficult when the situation calls for them to live together. At least for a couple of months, anyway. Parker James is nothing more than bad news with his hunger for parties and taste for one night stands. An image that has attracted so many rumours yet all falling short of the truth. His cold persona and solid walls seem to meet their match when Louisa bursts into his life like an unexpected fire. From cold glares to heated stares, sharp tongues with soft lips, both Louisa and Parker are in for their biggest challenge yet when the mind finds itself at war with the heart. Will the stubbornness mark their path or can the music tame their hearts? Will the two finally find what it's like to feel infinite? [EXCERPT]: "Don't you get it, Parker? This pathetic act of yours doesn't work on me, I can see straight through your bullshit threats; you're so full of shit. If you're going to hurt me, I guess you should get on with it because I'm growing tired of all your empty promises. So do your worst Parker James, I dare you." I punctuate my rant with a final shove to his chest, but this time, he catches my wrists. And suddenly I'm being forced back. His steps shadow mine until I hit the wall, bringing his body impossibly close to mine. His presence invades every last one of my senses. His smell. His body. His touch. His hands grip my wrists in a powerful yet almost gentle way as he slams my arms against the wall either side of my head, holding them in place, his body crushing my own. And then, his lips are on mine.
