[on hold, thank you to everyone who's read my first attempts at a story] ACID RAIN A story of the strongest. In the great dangerous deserts... Carter Rylander (The Kin) was once a serial killer hellbent on the control of his hometown and its water supply. Now, he's become a simple, conflicted man living away with his family. Maverick Blaze (The Blade) was once a little orphan boy that would do anything to survive. Now, he's the strongest thug taking on any job to protect-- Harley Galetina (The Navy Leg) was once a little girl trying to bring peace between her gypsy group and the rest of the judgmental town. Now, she's The Blade's partner, his foster little sister, in hopes of surviving as long as they can just to spend time with one another. When Carter Rylander is forced back into his hometown as a repercussion for his actions, he does whatever he can to get back to his family, trying to find supplies to survive a trip in the dangerous deserts. The three killers' paths are crossed, all ready to betray one another, all unready to feel like a family with one another, all tasting acid water for the first time...

He lit his cigarette, I lit nothing. He drank alcohol, I drank water. He smirked, I smiled. He didn't love me, I didn't love him. He and I together wouldn't last a day. And then the game started... He said he found me intriguing, unique, and interesting because I didn't swoon over him. "You and me Grey, let's play a game. We'll date and in three months time I promise you will fall for me. When you fall in love with me between that time span, I win. If in any way you were to win I'll give up all the alcohol, cigarettes, and player ways." It was a game I wasn't willing to lose, but all games had accidents and consequences. It takes a broken heart to know how to break a heart.

I was a child at the time, but only now do I feel safe enough to even speak of what occurred, during the night, at bedtime. In the darkness something lurked. God help me if it was all real.

Seventeen year old Irina Pashkova is shunned by her parents for her unique psychic abilities until they eventually cannot cope any longer, sending her to Briarcliff Manor. Will Kit Walker relieve her of her loneliness and then some? "How old are you?" He asks me, studying me carefully while leaning back and taking a drag from his cigarette. "Seventeen. How about yourself?" "Twenty-four." I stood up, slowly walking towards him until his face was just inches from my own. I stared deeply into his dark brown eyes, inhaling the stale comforting scent of cigarette smoke. His breathing became heavy as he intently returned my gaze. "You're playing with fire aren't you, Kit Walker?" I leaned in as if to kiss him, but pulled away at the last second, smirking before walking off.
