Llandudno, North Wales. Alexa Madson didn't expect to end up in such a place, but liked it, no matter how dull. Van McCann had lived there for thirteen years, and hated it, no matter how pretty. The two were different, but held an undying liking for each other from day one. However, when it came to making decisions about relationships, they were their own worst enemies.

Eleanor Harding moved to Llandudno with her mum after the divorce of her parents. Her mum was no role model so Eleanor had to stand on her own feet and make a new start in the place she now had to call 'home'. When she starts school Eleanor makes friends and becomes close with no other than Van McCann.

When Van finds out his best friends mother was extremely sick, how would he react? Isabelle falls into a world of drugs, trying to earn as much money as she can in order for her mother to receive as much treatment as there is. Van doesn't know how to react or cope, and is stuck in a knot of what to do. I mean, after all, what would you do if your best friend's mother was slowly dying of cancer?
