30 people wake up on this farm. They all introduce themselves, unaware of what will happen to them. They notice mysterious cameras all around the farm, and don't think much of it until one starts talking. "Hello, players. Welcome to the game of Flicker. Please feel around your pockets for a paper stating your role." All of the people open up a folded paper from their pocket. "If you have the murderer role, your goal is to murder everybody. A party can be thrown for many reasons. 1. To celebrate someone's birthday. 2. To celebrate a holiday that is part of your religion/ family traditions. 3. To cheer up someone when they've been working too hard, or not quite in the best of spirits. Or 4. The perfect trap luring unsuspecting teens, to their d e a t h s . This story is based off of Roblox Flicker, the Classic version. All characters used belong to JJ Studios, although their backstories/personalities are invented by me. This is my first story read by the public, so I hope you enjoy! A few warnings before you go any further- There is LGBTQ+ There is swearing...But not a lot. There is Romance, but this is Flicker. So the Romance is not going to be too extreme. This is a slightly different version of Flicker. How different? Well for one, there are back-stories. If you're someone who enjoys a little bit of inside drama before Flicker starts, then feel free to read from the start. However if you just came for Flicker, then skip to Chapter 7.

Matthias is a struggling writer finally able to move into his first solo apartment. He's thrilled to have a place free of roommates and siblings, even though the building is decrepit and is inhabited by an odd assortment of people including an intrusive neighbor, a little girl who wanders freely, and an overweight orange cat named Cheese. As Matthias settles in things begin getting stranger. Something vile is growing in the dark and it's coming from somewhere on the second floor... where Matthias happens to live. Author's note: this is me trying to get back to my roots: a character driven novella with horror elements. The story of people struggling against an inscrutable enemy, as well as the day to day trials of being poor in America. I have no idea how often I'll update or even exactly how this will all go down because y'girl is a panster. So strap in because this is the first draft and you all get to see it being born!
